Celebrated on the last day of Hindu lunar calendar month of Shravan, Rakshabandhan celebrates the pious bond of a brother and sister. It started when in Mahabharata, the sacred Hindu texts, Draupadi tied a piece of her garment on the wrist of Lord Krishna whilst it was injured which then became of sacred thread signifying love and protection.
